Constable Orville Heades has his hands full with all the dead bodies lying around. His first call came early, and is was a woman dead in the water. in the midst of this investigation, another came concerning two men dead in their pickup truck. it appeared the woman's death would be solved quickly. There was a man asleep in the woman's automobile. he was in the front seat. it turned out the man was intoxicated, and did not remember the previous night's happenings. However, he did remember only the victim was with him in the automobile.
The other crime scene was two brothers that had many enemies, and only one nearsighted witness. a couple of days later, a wife reported her husband missing. Heades found him up the hillside dead of suicide. One shot to the head, and one postmortem to the chest. It was strongly suspected the crimes were together.
